Join us in preparing camp for the summer

We are excited to welcome guests over Memorial Day Weekend to help us out with lots of projects around camp!

Work and Worship Retreat is absolutely essential for getting camp ready for the Summer. Winter and Spring really does a number on the grounds and facilities at Covenant Pines. Without the generosity of folks like you, we would not be able to get camp ready for the 1,700 children that will be up here soon.

The weekend consists of two days of work projects and one day of free time and fun. The weekend is very affordable and a great excuse to bring your family up to this beautiful place. Click the pricing tab below for more information.

Listed below are the projects we hope to accomplish and what tools are needed to help you prepare for the weekend. If you have any questions, please call camp at (218) 768-2610. We look forward to seeing you!

Work & Worship Speaker

jane hp-1The speaker for this year’s Work & Worship Retreat is Jane Hutchins-Peterson. Jane has loved Covenant Pines for the over twenty years she has lived in Minnesota. Her children Nathan (HP, currently on ministry staff at Covenant Pines), and Emily, have attended camp for as many years as they can remember. Jane grew up in New Hampshire and attended and worked at Camp Squanto. She has served three churches in Minnesota as an Associate Pastor including Rice Creek Covenant, Brookdale Covenant, and First Covenant in Willmar. Jane and her family are members of First Covenant Church in St. Paul where she sings on the Worship Team, serves on the Adult Spiritual Growth Commission, and teaches Adult Spiritual Growth classes. Jane is a Spiritual Director in the Northwest Conference. She has a Master of Divinity degree from North Park Theological Seminary with a concentration in Faith and Health. She met her husband Brian while they both attended NPTS and Jane worked at North Park University. She received her Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary. One of her greatest joys was working on the Covenant Book of Worship and serving the denomination as Chair of the Worship Commission for eight years. She is a retreat speaker, writer eclectic reader, passionate lover of connecting people, and watching for the extraordinary in the ordinary. As a Spiritual Director she enjoys creating holy and sacred space for people to meet God while walking alongside them as they listen and attend to the work of God in their lives. She has a particular interest in grief and loss issues. She enjoys teaching about spiritual practices including contemplative reading of scripture and journaling. Jane and her family are excited about being part of Work and Worship Weekend.
