Right now, our 2012 summer staff are in the midst of preparing camp for the beautiful chaos of joyful children that will hit our grounds for the next 10 weeks. One of the ancient traditions during this time of staff training is the creation of the “Capture the Duck” video. This picture was taken during the filming of one of the scenes from this video.
This photo also represents the tug-of-war mix of emotions that occurs in our staff members during this final stretch of training. They are simultaneously pulled by the desire for campers to finally arrive, but also pulled in the other direction by the desire for this wonderful time of fellowship to continue. We pray that, when the campers arrive, God will grant us the gift of having the best of both worlds; the blessing of showing Christ to the campers AND continued depth of our fellowship.
It never seems that we as staff have enough time to get everything done, yet God always provides and miraculously grants us the ability to prepare this place for the eternally significant work that needs to be done.
