What an absolute privilege it has been to serve at Silver Beach. In a time of unrest and uncertainty, Silver Beach has provided a place where families could find peace and community. It was awesome to see different families come each week with the sole purpose of relaxing and spending quality time with God and family. We were also blessed with some incredible weather, only two rainy days for two months!
Some of the highlights for the summer were rope swinging at sunset, tubing, watching John Powell juggle fire, seeing the Comet Neowise, observing the space station flying over, and just being awed by the beauty around us. Many of our guests enjoyed fishing this summer. One great story happened to Lloyd Fjare and his young grandson. After running out of gas on the north end of the lake, Lloyd decided to troll across the middle of the lake back to Sliver Beach with his electric motor. As they were fishing, Lloyds grandson caught the biggest northern (36 inches) of the summer in the middle of Round Lake! It was the talk of Silver Beach for the next few days.
We are so thankful for each and every guest that came to Silver Beach this summer. Every week had amazing families that brought joy to all that came down to the beach, sat by a fire telling stories, or tie dying as a family with Ashley. We look forward to seeing what the summer of 2021 will bring!
