Now introducing – Summer Getaways! A few weeks ago we made the difficult decision to cancel all Summer Youth and Family Camps at Covenant Pines Bible Camp. In the weeks that have followed our staff has been busy planning, praying, and dreaming about ways to serve your family yet this summer. We would like to announce what we are calling Summer Getaways to run weekly beginning in July. These 4 day retreat getaways are opportunities for your household to come to camp to rest, retreat and experience Christ as a family together. Our Summer Getaways will run weekly from Thursday dinner through brunch on Sunday. These experiences will be a simplified version of our regular summer family camps with a unique rhythm that will foster quality family time and opportunities for you to experience Christ together. See our schedule here.

On May 5, 2020 we announced that our leadership and board would make decisions regarding summer programming and COVID-19 in two stages. At the time, the decision to delay summer programming had been made with hopes of beginning youth programs at Covenant Pines Bible Camp and Adventurous Christians in early July.
The CPM Board of Directors has reached the second stage of decisions and the following will be implemented for Summer 2020:
COVENANT PINES BIBLE CAMP: All scheduled youth and family programs are cancelled through August 16, 2020. This includes all youth camp sessions and August Family Camp. We are currently exploring other ministry experiences to offer in some fashion, and will be sure to make those known once they are finalized. Our hope is to resume our Retreat Season in the fall of 2020 while continuing to monitor and adhere to guidelines and regulations regarding health and safety.
ADVENTUROUS CHRISTIANS: All summer church youth group and youth canoe trips have been cancelled. We are currently exploring offering wilderness ministry experiences to family units. Again, our hope is to resume our Retreat Season in the fall of 2020 while continuing to monitor and adhere to guidelines and regulations regarding health and safety.
SILVER BEACH FAMILY CAMP: Silver Beach will continue to host registered families throughout the summer. We will make program adjustments as necessary and communicate directly with families what this will look like. We are implementing new cleaning protocols and safety measures to do our best to keep guests safe and healthy while at camp.
We lament to have to share these decisions with you, as they were heartbreaking to make. For 65+ years, we have had students at camp over the summer. Covenant Pines Ministries has been faced with its share of hardships including fires and floods, but we have never had a summer without campers. Though we know this is the best way we can keep campers and staff safe and healthy, this was a decision that hurt to make.

Over the past several weeks, the CPM Staff and Board have monitored the COVID-19 situation and observed the recommendations of the Governor, the Minnesota Department of Health and the CDC. We have had many conversations discussing different scenarios about what the summer could look like for all aspects of Covenant Pines Ministries. We remain committed to meeting our high standards of health and safety of our campers and staff, while providing the high quality programs you’ve come to expect.
With this background, the CPM Staff and Board have adopted a two-stage approach regarding our plans for Summer 2020. As of today, we are implementing the First Stage:
COVENANT PINES BIBLE CAMP: With the information we currently know and doing our best to be proactive in keeping campers and staff safe, we have made the very difficult decision to delay the start of our summer youth and family camps until July 6, 2020. As a result of this decision, the following camps have been cancelled: Trailblazer 1, Senior High 1, Trailblazer 2, Junior High 1, Kids Camp 1 and July Family Camp. We will/are communicate directly with these families to discuss their options for refund, rescheduling or donation. Prior to July 6, we will implement new health and safety measures as well as extensive staff training to ensure we are able to keep campers safe while they attend camp. If you choose to cancel your campers registration, the options available to you can be found here.
SILVER BEACH FAMILY CAMP: Silver Beach will plan to host registered families throughout the summer. With proper safety, cleaning and health measures we believe families can still enjoy Silver Beach over the summer. Programmed activities that families will be able to participate in are still being evaluated and will be communicated to families in the future.
ADVENTUROUS CHRISTIANS: Adventurous Christians will move forward in anticipation of leading canoe trips and wilderness experiences beginning July 13, 2020. AC will be taking additional precautionary measures to ensure health and safety of guides, leaders and campers.
COVENANT PINES DAY CAMP: We were taking the summer of 2020 to evaluate the Day Camp Ministry. No decisions made have impacted Day Camp plans.
The Second Stage of our planning will occur in the coming weeks as we continue to monitor new available information and restrictions/recommendations. It is our strong desire to have campers on site this summer.

Memorial Day Work & Worship Family Camp has been canceled.
April 16, 2020

As we continue to plan for the summer ministry season, we recognize that we do so in response to the information available today. It can be foreseeable that our plans will adjust based on new information. We’ve adopted three guidelines to help frame our summer planning:
- There are no large group gathering restrictions
- There are no travel restrictions
- We determine we can continue to meet our high standards of health and safety at camp
We commit to communicating regularly and timely with parents and guardians regarding any CPM decisions that will impact the summer season.
In response to the COVID19 pandemic, CPM wants to honor the health and safety decisions of each family. If you choose to cancel your summer registration, you will have 4 options to choose from:
1) Full refund of registration fees (including deposit)
2) 50% refund of registration fees AND 50% donation of registration fees
3) You determine the amount to be refunded and donated
4) Full donation of registration fees
